Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to provide my account number and other personal information online?

As a rule, no! If Taylor County Bank needs specific information from you regarding an issue with your account we will contact you by phone or mail but will never ask you to provide such information online.

If you are contacted by phone or online by anyone representing themselves as Taylor County Bank, you should always call 270-465-4196 and ask a Customer Service Representative to verify.

Can I look at all my transactions at any time?

Yes! With Online banking, you can have access to your account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

How frequently is my information updated?

Your account information is updated every business day with new transactions that are posted to your account the previous day.

How can I tell what my available balance is?

The top of the statement will show any deposits, pending checks that have come in to your account on that day or withdrawals that you may have made but have not cleared in a Pending Balance. You should also be aware of the posting date on the pending items, because the funds will not be available until that date has arrived. For the actual amount available to you, you will need to look at the bottom of your statement under Available Balance, that number is the balances available to you at that point. Should you have any questions, you should contact any of our Customer Service Representatives.

Are my deposit accounts FDIC insured?

Yes! Each individual customer's account is insured by the FDIC. On July 21, 2010, President Barack Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act into law, which, in part, permanently raises the current standard maximum deposit insurance amount (SMDIA) to $250,000. The FDIC insurance coverage limit applies per depositor, per insured depository institution for each account ownership category. Consumers and bankers can find additional information regarding FDIC's deposit insurance coverage through the use of the FDIC's Electronic Deposit Insurance Estimator (EDIE) and deposit insurance publications located on the FDIC's website "Are My Deposits Insured?"

Can I have my payroll check deposited directly into my account?

It can be set up thru your employer to have your check direct deposited to your account. You would need to give your employer a copy of a voided check so they will have your bank ABA number and your checking or saving account number. If you prefer, you can ask someone in Customer Service to give you that information to give to your employer. We cannot originate the direct deposit of a payroll check, but we can assist you with your direct deposit of your benefit check.

What products can I apply for Online?

There are a lot of opportunities to use the convenience of our website. For instance, check your balances, transfer funds, pay your bills and even see your check images and statement, all at your convenience.
